Subtitles

An SRT, VTT or ASS file. You can also drop it onto the page together with the video.

Burn SRT, VTT or ASS subtitles into an MP4, MOV or WebM video so they show on any player, TV or social network. Choose the text size, top or bottom, an outline or a box, and the colour. Cyrillic works too, and the video is never uploaded.

How it works

  1. Choose a video or drag it onto the page, then add the subtitle file — or drop both at once.
  2. Pick the text size, position, background and colour. ASS subtitles keep their own styles; only the font is replaced.
  3. Click “Burn subtitles” and download the video: MP4, or WebM if the original was WebM.

Frequently asked questions

Can the subtitles be turned off afterwards?

No: burned-in subtitles become part of the picture, so keep the original video. For subtitles that can be switched on and off, give the player a separate file — convert SRT to VTT for websites or VTT to SRT for TVs and editors.

Which languages and encodings are supported?

The encoding is detected automatically: UTF-8, UTF-16 and the old Windows-1251 and Windows-1252. The text is drawn in Liberation Sans, which covers Latin, Cyrillic and Greek; Chinese, Japanese, Arabic and other scripts are not supported yet.

Is it free?

Yes. All tools are free, with no sign-up and no watermarks.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs in your browser, so your files never leave your device.
